Booth Brainstorming
Counter - measure depths of Express+monitor, mixer, and typical rack
case - counter should be the depth of the greatest of these three. OR -
since I know that the mixer is going to be the deepest object by a lot,
make the counter in the sound half of the booth that much deeper, and
leave the other side just deep enough to accomodate the express+monitor.
Electrical stuff - outlets, and lots of 'em. Two 20-amp circuits per
half of the booth, And another circuit, separate from those, for
overhead lighting. Fluorescent lights are fine for general use, but a
dimmable system for performances will be needed as well. Receptacles
should be located along the length of the counters on approximately 4'
centers, below counter level. Cords from equipment on the counters can
be routed through holes in the counters, similar to how a typical
office desk is set up. Additional outlets should be located along the
back and side walls.
We're also going to want ethernet receptacles. 2 ports on each half of
the room will be fine.
Clear-Com - jacks, flush-mounted to the wall if possible, just above
counter level. Two-channel boxes, one located at either end of each
counter, and one in the center of each counter (if window allows).
Telephone, on the back wall somewhere, capable of a silent or 'do not
disturb' mode.
Storage - move existing metal shelving units and cabinets from Lido
